Almir & Daniel are known for their virtuosic, energetic performances. Violinist Daniel Lazar was born in Serbia, while accordionist Almir Meskovic was born in Bosnia. Both grew up with music influenced by Roma music, klezmer, classical music, and everything in between. They first met while studying at the Norwegian Academy of Music and have developed a strong understanding, both when performing together in the folk music group Kuraybers and as a duo.

The music they perform is playful and colorful, expanding the wide range of different styles they grew up with. They play with everything from Mozart to Balkan and Norwegian folk music.

The technical range is vast, but what truly sets them apart is their ability to move the audience, who come to laugh, dance, cry, and marvel at the seemingly endless possibilities found in the interplay between violin and accordion.
